Our Children's Activities

Thank you for your interest in Our Children's Activities.

We would like to welcome you to Our Children's Activities by firstly introducing ourselves.    Our Children's Activities is managed by Chantal Burgess and Nicole van Rosse.
We set up our business in 2003 and have been successfully running for over seven years.

Chantal Burgess

I have been working alongside children for over 19 years.  I have always enjoyed working alongside children and having three young children myself, I know just how important it is for parents to provide a safe, secure and happy environment for their children to learn and play.

I achieved my N.N.E.B in 1992 and since then have worked with children of all ages within many Nursery settings, two of which I managed.  I have worked directly with special needs children with the Royal National Institute for The Blind, passing my award in care.
Over the years I have achieved all the recognised qualifications in Childcare, meeting Ofsted standards, which are needed to fulfil my role to a high and required professional standard
(available for inspection).

Through swimming for the Ealing Swim Squad in my younger days, I acquired a passion to teach swimming. I became a Swimming Instructor in 2001 and have been working as a Full Swimming Instructor for just over 5 years.  Alongside my Swim Teacher qualification, I hold  my Life Savers qualification; a National requirement for all Swimming Instructors.  I am also a member of the IOS; Institute of Swimming.

Nicole van Rosse

I have been working alongside children for over 15 years, in the context of teaching children how to swim and also working within primary and secondary schools as a Learning Support Teacher and
as a Mentor.
As well as running our business, I work full-time as a Cover Supervisor Teacher, at the Ellen Wilkinson Girls School, Ealing.

Through my history of swimming; I  swum for the Harrow & Weadlstone and Ealing Swim Squad, I too acquired a passion to teach children to swim.  I became a Full Swimming Instructor in 2001, so have been working as a Full Swimming Instructor for over 8 years.
I have worked as a Swimming Instructor for various establishments and schools, such as Swimarama; Northolt, David Lloyds; Ealing and The John Lyon School and Quainton Hall School; Harrow.  Alongside my Swim Teacher qualification, I hold  my Life Savers qualification and am a member of the IOS.

Over the years of teaching children how to swim, I learnt and developed an interest to work with children.  I successfully achieved my Playwork Diploma in July 2004.  This then led me into my professional roles as an Assistant Games Teacher and School Swimming Teacher at the Quainton Hall Boys School, Harrow, onto working at Northwood High School as a Learning Support Teacher and Learning Mentor and now currently as a Cover Supervisor and Learning Mentor at
The Ellen Wilkinson Girls School, Ealing.

Initially, I had never thought of a career in working alongside children, but through these experiences I have been made aware of just how enjoyable, exciting and rewarding, working alongside children can actually be – possibly this may change when I have children of my own, let’s wait & see!!

Chantal & Nicole

Over the years that we have worked alongside each other and now as business partners for the last six years, we have become the best of business partners.  We have been working together for a long time – and still amazingly we remain close friends – how this is so, we don’t know but we’ve succeeded, in more ways than just one!  We are thrilled with the positive support and encouragement from our clients and very pleased with how the business is growing.
